that's funny, but it's true. i would prefer the stuble look, if my hair decides to agree with me, but the shirt and towel drying thing is really annoying.
It's normal for recently shaved hair to be itchy. I don't know why it happens but it's normal LOL
I've used Aveeno on my head for flaking, cause it's just dry skin. Your head is much less oily when you don't have hair. I think my husband and I traumatized a 9 year old girl last night - we were shaving our heads together when she came to a sleepover with our daughter. I never ended up shaving my head until after I had been AU and I was getting bits of regrowth. The shaved head works much better for me if I have to shave it at all.
I think the skin on your scalp is JUST like the skin on your face -- at least, mine is! I have extremely oily skin, and since I've been totally smooth my head has been super oily too! I was shaving every morning, but because of the irritation from the razor I cut back to every other day. That takes care of the irritation, but the oiliness is driving me nuts, because it didn't used to be that way before!
you could try using a cleanser designed for oily skin, i am also like you my skin is so oily i cleanse tone and moisturise my face and scalp and when i am exfoliating my face my scalp gets the same treatment - saves on the shampoo and conditioner and i also get a head massage thrown in
our hair sucks.... why can't we at least have some good skin? while it has been somewhat easy to contain, i have psoriasis and eczema too. i would seriously take on any female for "who has the most skin and hair products". i am a guy, i'm bald, why do i have to spend a fortune on all of this? seriously one bar of ivory, every month should be it, instead of:
1. nizoral 2% shampoo used twice a week
2. nuetregena mild shampoo used five days a week
3. nivea bath bars used daily
4. nivea moisterizers used daily
5. 1% hydrocortizone used daily
6. various hand creams
wow.... i guess at least i save on conditioners. ;)
I shave what little is left of my hair when i can be bothered. i was told not to by many different people - the doctor, the hairdresser, the dermatologist. i was like, if shaving is gonna damage the hair folicles in that little patch and all the rest grows in then what the hell if i can live with being completely bald i can live with a little bald patch although to be honest i don't think it did it is the only part of recurring growth i have and the one bit that just wont fall out.
I..go bald..but razors still show the patches as my hair is black....(my wife still says it's where the aliens are probing me..)...and DON"T try nair....(OOOWWWIEEEEEEE),,,,,,
This is true -- when you lose your eyelashes (as I have) every little dust speck, mite, pollen grain, you name it -- it gets in your eyes and makes them very itchy and irritated. Right now I am living off Benadryl and Restasis drops for my eyes to keep them moist and not itchy -- it feels like a permanent case of pink eye!!
I'm currently in my sixth month of being totally bald, and I have discovered two things so far: one, a Gillette Fusion Power razor is the BEST thing in the world to use to shave! Two, because I have naturally oily skin, the skin on my scalp is no different -- so now I have to use Clearsil every day on my head just like I do my face!! How retarded is that???? :)
We did at first but our mom thought differently. So now we do have a alternative. Please read our Personal Story and see why we fight against hair loss and support those with alopecia. Daily women all of ages actually cry after seeing what we can do to restore hair. Our greatest reward is restoring happiness as we did with our mom.
