Hi Cathy,

Don't worry-it will be 50% lighter in a week or so. I was assured of this but did get scared looking in the mirror. Even though my hair and eyebrows and lashes have returned-a minor miracle I think, I am very glad that I got the tattooing done. My hair is grayer than it was and I am very afraid of getting it colored-don't want to abuse it at all. My lashes are short and eyebrows are very light in color so I am grateful that I got them colored.
I bet you will so appreciate having this done-in a week. I felt that I looked like a lightbulb without any brows or lashes. And it felt like I was taking charge a bit to have them restored. Let us know how you are doing by this time next week. I just had my eyebrows and eyeliner tattoo-ed on and sitting here looking at how dark it is! But I was asured that it will go lighter once the scab comes and goes? Was anyone else worried about this? I got them done today and yes the eyeliner huts like heck. i hav eno eyelashed and I was told that was why, cause usually they tattoo between the lashes and I have very very few.
Sitting here thinking OH did I do wrong in getting this done? Does anyone have so insurance to tell me to make me fell…

I had my eyebrows done last year, and it was the best $400 I've ever spent. I had to go in three times to get the color right. You do eventually have to go back for touchups because the color fades - it's not the same kind of pigment they use in tattoos. It didn't hurt. The pen looked like one of the big thick pens with all the different colors - the ones you had in grade school. And it just fell like I was scratching an itch where my eyebrows would soon be. I haven't done the eyeliner, so I…

Last year I did both eyebrows and eyelashes, top and bottom. It was uncomforatble but I would do it again in a heart beat. I called a plastic surgeon to get a name and then research with friends also. I wear sunglasses all the time outside and hat in the sun, and sunscreen so I have had very little fade in the past year. I did have to have all areas worked on 3 times since some areas didn't take and because the woman who did it was cautious. I appreciated that. It was $600 for brows and $600…

I did have to have all areas worked on 3 times since some areas didn't take and because the woman who did it was cautious. I appreciated that. It was $600 for brows and $600 more for lashes. It would have been nice if insurance would pay-but they don't. Be sure that you are tested for allergies before you have work done. Some inks can cause a reaction. HI Brianne, I had my brows done 4yrs ago, and eyes 3 yrs ago. The brows I first did in a paler color, because of the color I used to use, however, it was too light, so went darker. I also had to have multiple tatting. She didn't charge me more, to touch up. The regular price was 500, but she gave it to me at 320. The following year I went to get the eyes, inner, both up and down. My skin didn't take that very well, and it took 3 applications. It was very painful, and usually my threshold is…
HI Brianne, I had my brows done 4yrs ago, and eyes 3 yrs ago. It was very painful, and usually my threshold is pretty high, but I barely have any lashes, so, maybe that is the difference. A person with lashes has that , minor as it might sound, padding to help with the needle. It also cost 500, and again, she gave it to me for 300. Sadly, a mere 3 yrs, and you would not know it had been done, it is completely gone.
My brows I will get redone next spring, as, they have faded.
Now, why do I think the tats fade, or don't take.....
1)It partly depends on how much you bleed. People who bleed some, the blood pushes the color out, and you will make a bigger ,,deeper scab. So if you bleed, make sure you leave, or don't touch your tat till its fully healed.
2)If you are taking vitamins, stop at least 2-3 wks prior. Some vitamin's like oil of primrose, EFA, vit E, are bleeders.
3)Skin type. I have very sensitive, thin skin. I have had alopecia universalis for almost 40 yrs, I really think that is a factor.
4)Once it's healed well, moisturize, and exfoliate. I think this played part of why the liner didn't stay. I couldn't moisturize my eyes, because my eyes are extremely sensitive to chemicals. I tried using cream, oil, just at bedtime, and it either burned, or disturbed my eyesight. Moisturizing eyes with a specialized cream, or natural like a smidgen of olive oil at bedtime. My head tat, I exfoliate and moisturize every bath.
5) Sun exposure. If your a tanner, as you tan, and shed skin, it will fade. Just a process of natural body skin. So to make sure always wear some kind of sunscreen on your tats.

I have a tat on the back of my head. Now, I was told there is two different inks. One for aesthetics, and one for other. I must say, that tat has barely faded and its been almost 5 yrs. Its very colorful, but I was told that, that ink has copper or something like that in it, and not recommended for faces.
And Last but not least, Brianna, take the time to visit and speak to various boutiques. Don't just get it done with the cheapest, or without investigating. Make sure they are clean, and reputable. Its not a thing to save a few dollars on, because if they screw up, you can't hide it with sweater. Being beautifully bald, you attract the lookers, so make sure you get the very best job done, pay the extra if you need, cause your worth every dime.
I can't remember what the cost was off hand. I can find out and let you know. That way you at least have an idea and will know if what you are quoted is in the ballpark :)

Hey! Thanks for the input! I am not afraid of needles at all and I have 2 tattoos already. lol I do want the inner part which I am guessing is the membrane. I didn't know that they could do it there. Yeah I am going to start researching it because I am ready to get it done. I hate smearing my eyeliner and not knowing if it is all over the place if there is not mirror around! I know I want it done, I just need to do more research. I do want my eyebrows but when I am older. lol
Hi again. I do want to add to my previous post. I had the eyeliner done on the top lid below and mixed into the lashes and also on the bottom lid under & and mixed into the lashes. When she first did it part of the top color didn't stay. I went in for a touch-up, I have heard this is not unusal. The second time the color did stay. By the way, she didn't charge for the second visit. It's true that people have different thresholds for pain. I was so scared but it didn't hurt for me. It's been…

By the way, she didn't charge for the second visit. It's true that people have different thresholds for pain. I was so scared but it didn't hurt for me. It's been 5 years and perhaps the color has faded slightly. If you do go for this make sure you find someone who is experienced and use the ointment they give you to put on each day for (I think) a week. This will help to reduce the risk of infection. I did get a small amount of infection but it cleared up quickly. I will definately do it again when the color fades enough because for me it was wonderful even with the slight infection and having to have the touch up. For me it helped me feel better about myself becasue it helped hide the bulge of my eyes. I have a job where I am speaking on stage at conventions on a regular basis and am in a fairly public position. This just helps to give me more conidence. (One might say I'm too self-conscience but I need all the confidence I can muster as I don't think I will ever get fully use to public speaking :) ) I was talking to a friend the…tag:alopeciaworld.com,2008-09-27:2022678:Comment:1288682008-09-27T15:07:21.941ZCSuehttps://alopeciaworld.com/profile/CSue
I was talking to a friend the other day who had her eyeliner tattooed and she said that you eventually have to get it redone because it fades. She also said it didn't hurt at all which I found difficult to believe, but I think everyone has a different threshold for pain. Hers is not on the inner part of the eye, so maybe that's why it wasn't as painful for her.
