Today I was at the salon getting my nails done by the lady who usually does my nails every time I go there. I haven't been to this particular salon in a couple of months, but one of the first things I noticed was that this lady cut off her waist-long black hair into a borderline crew cut. I thought it really made her face stand out and so I complimented her on it. She got all fluttery and was like "Thanks so much! I really like it this way too!" and was all smiles....until the woman next to me opened her big mouth and said "Or you could always get a wig or extensions. It's much more feminine and pretty than such a short hair cut." I was like WOAH mama! Oh no she didn't! The lady with the short haircut looked really insulted, and rightfully so. But before I got to open my mouth, a man who was also there getting a manicure (male-polish and all, lol) gave Mama Big Mouth a dirty look and said to the salon lady "Actually, I think you look great with short hair. Who cares what other people think, they're just jealous." HELL YEAH! If my nails weren't wet with polish I would've slapped this guy a high five. I couldn't believe that this lady had the audacity to be so rude. I should also point out that she looked like a complete slob, down to the stains on her shirt and the crust on her face... yet her hair was frosted and blown out to perfection. Honestly now, where the hell does she come off being the judge of what's pretty and what's not? I wish a mirror would've falled from the sky and slapped her in the face. It takes more than blown out hair to be beautiful...Especially with a personality like hers. I just had to share that story with you guys because of that guy's response. It made me happy to hear that not all people are insensitive jerks who think that beauty only comes in one type of package.
In the mean time....I'm going wig shopping this week! My hair's still falling out in fist fulls every night and I'm sick to death of dealing with it, so I'm taking matters into my own hands. I'm not sure if I want to go red or stick with blonde. I know I can get both, but I'm not sure which I'll want to stick with. Judging from my pictures, any suggestions?
