Does anyone wear a bonded system that lasts a few weeks at a time? Only I will be shaving the res of my hair off in January/February and hope to God it stays on and doesn't come off until I take it off. Also, can you really have hot summer holidays on a beach and sweat and will it still stay on!! Would really appreciate your views to all the people wearing a bonded system. Any tips would be great, many thanks all :-)

Yes, I wear mine for about 4 weeks at a time, it does stay on and I had a blast relaxing by the pool all summer, no problem. The only thing I didn't want to do was underwater swimming, I'm not sure how well it would stay on after that. Good luck with the bonded system! It doesn't work for everyone, but I love mine. If you have any other questions let me know.

One more thing, make sure you get one custom made out of a mold of your head, you want to make sure it fits like a glove!

Hi Dominique. Thank you so much for your response, it means so much to me that you have been honest and so positive about a bonded piece! It really does help me a great deal. Do you use glue or tape for a 4 week hold? I won't go under water but so long as I can have my hot summer holidays by the beach or pool and it won't come off. You have been a great help. Many many thanks. By the way, I am having my piece made by Farrell hair. Where is yours from? x

Hi Dannii,

As I mentioned I wear a Peggy Knight piece, but I recently met a young woman that had a bonded piece from The Hair Club. She said it was very secure and it would last for up to 4 weeks. Her hair was very pretty and natural looking. However, the glue that is used in the bonding process was starting to irritate her skin so she was needing to look into other options. Other than that she didn't really have anything negative to say about it. Good luck!

Hi Diana - I wanted to ask you what type of wig you have from Peggy Knight...my sister just recently got the 'gripper' from Peggy Knight a couple weeks ago. She has had alopecia since she was a young child and been wearing wigs for over 20 years now. I was just so thrilled when she called to tell me that she loved her new piece. I always wait with baited breath for the call - always hoping that she will be happy. I just want her to feel confident and secure when it comes to her hair and her appearance. I know how important it is to her self-esteem. I'm sure that it is for you too. I wish I lived closer, so that I could see her in person with it on, but just knowing that she loves the hair and how it feels on her head (some of the old wigs weren't as comfortable) makes me so happy. Anyhow, I didn't mean to ramble on - but when I saw that you had a Peggy Knight wig too, I was just curious. This is her first one and she said the best one yet!

Hi Kate,

I'm glad your sister is happy with her Gripper. :) I have a Gripper as well as vacuum pieces. The Gripper is very secure, natural looking and comfortable. I NEVER thought I'd wear anything but vacuum pieces, but the Gripper changed my mind. :) Is your sister on Alopecia World? How far apart do you and your sis live? My sister lives in Iowa and I'm in WA. I wish we lived closer too! Take care. :)

That's great, Diana - sounds like you and my sister are both happy with the Gripper - I'm so glad that Peggy created this!!! My sister lives in Virginia and I am in Connecticut - way too far apart - but not as far apart as you and your sister...I have told my sister about AW, but I don't think she has joined yet....I hope she does soon, because this is such a great forum. Thanks and take care. :)
