I am recently diagnosed with alopecia universalis.
Can't stand the 2 month's stress....and my derma (one of the top docs in mumbai city) has put me directly into following regimen so that I get a good chance0 (possibly) of getting my lost pride.

1. Dexamethasone 100mg three days pulse therapy ( 3 hours slow i.v infusion for consecutive days in dextrose)
2. Oral pulse steroid every week ( 5 mg dexa) for 6 months.
3. Azithioprine 50mg everyday for 6 months.
All above regimen will be tot rated based on response rate in due course.

I am also trying raw onion juice topically twice daily in scalp and all bald areas of visibility.

I ve lost my eyebrows and eyelashes last week.
Friends pls pls give me hope that this intense regimen might work for me.

I am lost. Cant stand this situation.

I am suffering from serve drug related conditions: anger, palpitation, acne, insomnia, confusion, confused mental status, over eating, odema, acute hypertension, excessive sweating, irritability, flushing face and what not. I am prepared to sail through these stuff. ....but I need my hair back

Pls give me confidence friends

I wonder if all those side effects are worth it. But good luck!

Maddi : these seem short term side effects. They are going to subside down soon. Fingers crossed. Thanks.

Hi.its been 1 year 6 months since I lost everything ( hair, confidence and fun). Pulse steroid therapy resulted in plenty of side effects.. Acne across face, shoulder, chest. Mods swings worsened. Hence no results.

I tried homeopathy for 6 months and ayurveda for 2 months with no results.

Now I am off any medications.

Got my scalp micro pigmentation done + eyebrow tattoos with richfeel. It came out very bad. I am hiding myself from other with help of a wide spectacles and a cap.

To not to think about this issue I am keeping myself in various physical activities. Gym, run, cycling, trekking etc keep me busy. Family is supporting like a strong pillar.

Without my mom and wives support I would have not crossed this 1.5years of hell somehow easily
