My nails are also pitted, I noticed this several months prior to losing my hair, I had no idea what it meant at the time.

My nails have deep grooves in them and the ends are very white like a french manicure, they also split very easily. The groves are very noticable, I have very ugly nails.

My daughter at 3 yrs old lost 5 fingernails and has lost a few toenails. The doctor didnt think it had to do with alopecia but I do. Her nails are very thin. She doesnt have pitting like the mention. She has alopecia univeralsis and has shown signs since see was 3 months old. She had hair and eyebrows but had circular bald spots until 2yrs old then lost all hair, eyebrows, eyelashes, hair. She hasnt got one hair anywhere.
