Aerialist with alopecia wows the judges and the crowd on America's Got Talent

Hi Everyone,

I'm still giddy from my appearance on America's Got Talent on Tuesday night!!! The outpouring of love, support and encouragement I have received through websites, messages and social media has been overwhelming....I am moved to tears! You can see my audition in the full episode below. I'm the last act. I can't tell you how empowering it was to share my story and be seen by MILLIONS of people. I hope you are all inspired to live bravely and pursue your dreams. We are so much more than just our physical appearance. It is our inner beauty, the strength of our spirit, the kindness we show to others and what we have to give that truly matters!

Thank you for your bravery!

Do you mind sharing what type of hair piece you wear?  It looks so natural and beautiful.  Thank you for sharing your story. You have inspired many women!  PEACE

Not at all. It is a human hair lace top wig. Sorry, I don't know the brand. I purchased it from a shop in San Diego that works with cancer patients. I had it cut and colored to my specifications. To keep it in place, I either use extra strength double sided tape or TDI Super Grip Adhesive.

Laura, I love AGT, so I was thrilled, awed to see you perform.   You were amazing, add having alopecia to that it was so inspiring to me and as you can see to all of us with this disease.   Thank you for that inspiration.   The Best Of Luck to you, I want to see more of your performances on AGT.

Thank you! One thing that I have found very helpful in learning to live with alopecia is my mindset. Rather than seeing this as a "disease", implying that we are sick, I look at it as a "condition" or "disorder", something is just not quite working right in our bodies.

Thank you so much! Your positive words are very helpful today.   And a belated bravo for your appearance on America's Got Talent!  Hair issue aside - holy shmoley - what beauty and grace you demonstrated!  Wishing you continued success, Laura. Tuesday
