Every now and then signing on to Alopecia World allows me to reflect.
To share, also connect with people who's life has been thrown into a spiraling pool of loss, isolation and sadness.
Where the only way to feel accepted in the outside world, is to cover up with head covering.
So here at Alopecia World we are free to shed our wigs, our hats, bandannas and head coverings, that hide our sorrows.
Here we can unwind, disrobe, to tell our stories, pains and conflicts with others who understand.
I call it "OUR HOME, AWAY FROM HOME"
Living with the daily hum drum in our minds.
Fighting this dreaded change and the thoughts which pitta patta in our heads.
A constant reminder, humming the music of worry, concern, interruption of our own and others questions.
Bringing me back to "my" reality, knowing that although we may feel alone, there is a world of men, women and children sharing the same plight, as one another with Alopecia.
Let us wipe away our tears, comfort each other with support and strength to face this world.
No matter how much heartache, grief, loss, self loathing we have all experienced from time to time...the ultimate goal for all of us is to rebuild self esteem, and self worth.
To smile, when nobody will smile for us!
Also the ability to confront our self as we are, and never, never conform for those who's judgment is impaired.
Free our insecurities, to become enriched through loving the image we face on a daily basis.
For we have such a long way to go, in this journey through life as we are.
Stand tall....be proud to be uniquely you.
Where is it written...that hair is the right way...simply because conditioning and society says so.
Believe in yourself and believe that your way is the right way for you.
That no other can ever begin to know or truly understand your plight.
Wake up!

Great to be of some assistance...as there is nothing more rewarding than touching the souls of others in distress!
