All I can say if your doctor won't look into it, change your doctor! If you had bad asthma and your doctor was not giving you the correct medication you wouldn't stand for it, treat this the same way.
Get a friend or family member to go with you for support if you feel that would help you.
Good luck and I hope you get the support from your doctor you DESERVE. I have to say my doctor was amazing xxx

I agree - personally I think you should be referred to a derm for a scalp biopsy for a confirmaion of the diagnosis. Dont be afraid to ask to be taken seriously.

But what pray tell do you feel they could do? If they could do something, we all wouldn't be on this site.

I went through 2 primary care physicians and 3 dermatologists. I was first diagnosed with Alopecia areata which turned into AA. I accepted the diagnosis. However, during this time I was experiencing a lot of hypothyroid symptoms too. Despite "normal" levels, I asked to be referred to an endocrinologist who did more extensive testing and found that I had Hashimoto's (hypothyroidism). You are your best advocate!!!
