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

I had this happen to me about 11 years ago. All of my hair, eyelashes and eye brows grew back and stayed for about three years. But don't dispair. Sometime alopecia does turn or and never turn back on again. You can't take to heart everything the doctors say. They don't know all that much about it or they wouldn't insist on treating it as a dermatological issue instead of the auto-immune issue that it is. So just enjoy it and keep doing whatever it is you're doing.

Michelle,
Thanks for the encouraging words. Im starting to get really excited about my hair growing in because after being diagnosed with it 5 years ago, and going 2-3 years without any hair at all i wasnt really sure if my hair would ever grow back, not even as little as it has. A little part of me wants to believe that a reason that my hair fell out was because of all the stress I was under after my grandmother was diagnosed with Lou Gherigs disease and then died Two years after the initial diagnosis. I'm no longer stressed because of the fact that i know she's not suffering anymore, I know shes in a better place. Hopefully my hair will continue to grow and if it does grow back and fall out again Im fine by that because I know that I can handle wearing the wigs and walking around with scarves on my head...but my fingers and toes are crossed!

Lee,
Wonderful! and actually I haven't done anything different because I just knew nothing would work...the little fuzz just started popping up and hasn't stopped yet...I will be trying some hair regrowth products just to see if they help the process (Nioxin)...but other then that the hair started growing on its very own!

Hello Montoya,
I'm also experiencing regrowth. I would say about 70% percent of my hair has grown back. My eyebrows and eyelashes have grown back as well as some body hair. I was diagnosed with AU about 2 1/2 years ago I Iost everything. Like you I was going through a very difficult time in my life that created an enormous amount of stress. I really can't say whether this attributed to my hair loss, but its seems a little coincidental. I still have to wear wigs, but I'm not to getting my hopes up either. It is exciting, but I guess I need to just go with it and if my hair grows back completely then GREAT, but if it falls out again then I have to except it and move on. I will keep my fingers crossed for you too!

That is great Montoya, I hope that you will continue to see regrowth.
I not sure if you've ever tried aromatherapy or not but you may want to check that out. I started using essential oils about a month ago after doing some research and so far I am pleased. I was tired of the injections that I was getting from my dermo because they weren't working at all for me. I was also given the option of microneedling but thought I'd try the natural approach.
I am just joining this website but will keep you'll posted on the results.
Good luck!!!!
