do people just like to make you feel insecure or something?

some of my friends have asked me why dont u have eyebrows or eye lashes and my friend one time was like if you have eyebrows that you cant see put your hand in and she was like Rachel? people are just so rude sometimes! they just dont realize how hard it is to live like this! i dont have any friends with alopecia so no one understands sometime i just feel like im alone and have no one to go to!... i just want to fit in a be able to do whatever i want to my hair whenever i want to without having to be paranoid that something is showing! i want to be confident again and be able to feel pretty and wear mascara and other make up! :( but theres one good thing that i know of that is good about alopecia you dont have to shave your legs as much! hahaha :)))) :D

Hi Rachel
I can't imagine what you are going through and sometimes people can be so cruel. My daughter Brianna is 10 and she has alopecia universalis and she is still scared to tell anyone including family members about it. How did your friends treat you when you told them? Does it get any easier as you and your friends get older? Like you it is hard for her too because she has no friends to relate to her condition. We all get in a funk when it feels like we are alone. Just keep sharing like you are doing and you will see that you are never alone you 're just feeling a little lonely. You have a lot to share with others who are feeling like you. You can be an inspiration to so many like my daughter. Maybe you can tell her some of the things to expect from people when she decides to let people into her world. You stay strong young beautiful one.

sorry this took me so long to post back I havent been on here in a while. But when i told a couple of my friends they didnt really acted different or anything they just said they were shocked and asked if they could do anything to help. I havent told all my friends cause im scared they look at my weird and differently. Its really hard to tell people and trust that they arent gonna tell anyone but ive told a few. and i would love to be an inspiration for your daughter i would like that ALOT! i could really help her with her struggles cause i got it when i was ten or younger so i would love that! :)
