Hi all!
I'm going for a biopsy this week that will (hopefully) shed some light on why I'm losing my hair. I am concerned with how much hair they'll need to remove for the test, however. Does anybody know how much they will take?
Also, how accurate are the results?
Please responds!
Thanks!
Alexandra

We didn't have to have any hair removed for my daughter's biopsy. They only did a scalp scraping on a very small area which was totally painless. Good Luck!!!

Hi!I had a scalp biopsy to determine what type of hair loss I had. They took a very tiny area of the scalp. It did not cause for any hair coming out. It's called a punch test and they simply use a small tool to "punch" (it feels like a thumb prick) into the scalp. They took a milimeter size specimen on my scalp, no hair. Don't let the biopsy concern you too much. My experience was very painless.
