Androgenic alopecia advise needed... please

I have been diagnosed with this, although I am still cautious I don't think the medical people know much!!, I also have hypothyroidism, does anyone think this is connected at all, as I lost my eyebrows first, then patches at the temples, then body hair, now my hair is going ... fast... I am on a high vitamin, protein diet, I have not seen any signs of my hair returning, can I expect it to grow back, I am having trouble coming to terms with this.

Thanks to this site I can talk about it x

Hi there ! I totally get it. I to have lost my hair. I have been 100% hairless since basics March 2012. It took me about 1 year to fully accept that I am bald. I had so much hair that NEVER would I think or anyone think I would be BALD!!! But I am. To be honest with you the quicker you accept it the easier and happier your life will be. I had to believe and understand that my hair did not define who I was as a person or who I was as a woman. How long have you had it for? I see a tiny bit of hair growing back but now I am taking chemo so when it does grow a bit it falls out. It's only ever been a slight fuzz zero length. There are so many beautiful wig out there is incredible. I have 4 wigs but prefer not to wear them. I have learned to love my bald head. So easy to take care of. I could type all night about this. But getting sleepy. Any questions? I M open to questions.

Hi and thanks for your reply, good to have some support, I don't think anyone really understands, do they.  I started noticing hair falling for about a year now, although its actually been the last few months where it has decided it would rather go, doctors seem unhelpful, I am trying new diets and extra vitamins, nothing growing yet. I think it may be due to stress, I lost my father last year, I also have hypothyroidism and lost eyebrows quite a while back, I think it could be linked, but never get any answers, my entire body is now hairless and showing no signs of recovery yet!!  I am trying not to be down, but I don't look like me any longer, wigs are horrid, and having toppers fitted, although expensive they do cover the top well, I still have a little hanging on at the back. I did see a very ignorant consultant who just said "you don't see any bald women"  really!  so I guess I will have to wait and see, although at the moment my life is on hold.
