Anyone else experience this with their children. It's shedding everywhere and dr said its normal. I am freaking out cause my husband and I both have hair loss. Does anyone else seem to think it is stange that we all have hair issues. I am starting to think its our apartment or water. I don't know what to think anymore.

It is obvious to get worried about hair loss in a child. But I suggest you to take second opinion of a specialist. Look for any bald - patches. Don't freak out.

i second the second opinion, it's not bad to wonder about it when my 3year old began to loose her hair instead of growing it in more she was only 1 year old at first i too thought it could be the normal. little babies loose hair and grow it back all the time but as the other poster said it's usually when they are tiny ones. I could no longer rationalize her hair loss when her eyelashes started to fall out also. By the time she was officially diagnosed with Alopecia areta totalias universalis she had no eyelashes no eyebrows and only tiny patches of hair, She kept getting this rash on her head and i thought maybe it caused it so i bought some Eczema cream and used it on it...it seemed to help the hair started to come back but it didn't stay. She is now 3 1/2 and is totally bald and so dang cute. Do i wish she had hair like all of her other siblings, Yes but she doesn't so I just want to make sure she knows that she is still very beautiful just like her other sisters.
whatever happens we will all be here to help and support you and her.

Hi Michelle, sorry you are dealing with this. I would take your daughter to a dermatologist for sure. I wanted to let you know that I have a support group in Mass and for the surrounding NE area and a FB page just for our group called Massachusetts CAP Kids. Feel free to send me an invite. It is a private group and we do have families from NH on the board. Cindy
