According to an article on CNN.com:
"Olaplex, a beauty brand favored by TikTok and Instagram influencers, sells hair products that dozens of customers allege caused “serious injury,” according to a lawsuit filed last week. Olaplex denies the claims, saying independent test results prove the allegations to be false."
'Nearly 30 women joined together to file a lawsuit against Olaplex on February 9, specifically targeting its No. 0 to No. 9 products. They allege the products…

I love this story so I thought I would share it!!
A Wisdom Story - The Three Hairs
There once was a woman who woke up one morning, looked in the mirror, and noticed she had only three hairs on her head. "Well," she said, "I think I'll braid my hair today." So she did and she had a wonderful day.
The next day she woke up, looked in…

Hello all,
My friend is wanting to donate her hair to an organization that makes wigs for individuals who have alopecia. However, her hair has been dyed. Does anyone know of a reliable organization that will accept her hair? I appreciate any help and responses.
Sincerely,
Lauren

Imagine this: Years of dedication and hard work towards my first masters degree. With the finish line in sight, my heart filled with nothing but excitement and bliss for what my future holds, only to wake up to spots of bare skin where my hair would usually be. I had interviews and meetings that I was prepared for. I had no doubt in my mind these meetings would open doors to the future I had dreamt about for the past 8 years. Now I felt nothing but self consciousness and anxiety. How…

I was so will-powered up at the work xmas party yesterday. I ignored the cheese platters and chocolate, strudel and cheesecake. I ignored the bread, bread sticks, dips and feta salad. There was still plenty of GF options and dairy-free things for me to eat and I was full to bursting.
Came home and bought the family pizza while I happily ate a mango and a peach.
Then as I'm watching TV I discover several new spots, all at the back of my head. I've been doing (nearly) everything…

In January 2014, Foxsports.com reported:
"If you got it, flaunt it. But not when it comes to long hair for NFL coaches, apparently.
"According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan will have to cut his long locks before being considered for a head coaching gig in the NFL.
"After 'mistakenly'…

Horrayy!!!
My hair is back... I've had hair growth consistently since October of last year. I have patiently waited to write this post since the last time I tried I lost my hair again.
The doctors can't really agree (GP & Dermo) what started the loss but everyone is happy that it is back. The hardest question I find myself thinking about is when will this happen again? Or will it?\\
Has anyone found that they went through just a 2 year period of…

Hello Alopecia World!
I'm a new mommy (two babies under 2 years old!) and I started losing my hair shortly after a minor car accident while I was pregnant with my son. I gave birth to my daughter last summer and experienced about 90% hair loss following delivery. I'm curious if there are any other moms out there that have had this happen to them? Or anyone that struggles with alopecia and wants to share...
I started writing on wordpress:…

Today at my blog, I wrote all about the Cabbage Patch Kid I got as a child and how, 30 years later, it's helped me to come to terms with my Alopecia.

I'd be so thrilled if it helped someone to read this.
With love!

I am 42 years old. Since last October I have been gluten free. I have decided to also try to go organic and no fast foods, no artificial this or that (for the most part). I have also decided to make a choice to just eat healthy. As a side effect or perhaps result of my efforts and food choices...my hair has started to grow everywhere. Its been a month since i had also started the Probiotics in my diet. I noticed fine little hairs all over my head and in my eyebrows, about 1/8" long. My…

I have been battling with Alopecia for 2 years now. My hair has become so thin that at times you can see the scalp through my hair when I wear it down OR up. I am considering getting hair extension to create more fullness. I have never had them before, so I am a little lost as to which ones are the best, affordable ones in the Vancouver (or lower mainland) area.
Can anyone help me with this? Your comments are highly appreciated! Thank you!!

Anyone else tired of seeing hair collect all over your floor, bed, hairbrush? My hair has gotten to my lower back, but I still have large patches over the entire back and sides, with some smaller patches on top. So, of course, my long hair sheds and it becomes very obvious that there's hair everywhere. The worst is when cooking! I'm always scared someone will find a hair in their food and be disgusted.
Makes me want to shave it all off -- a thought that's been around for a few months.…

I've had AA for a few years now. I shaved my head 9/02/10 and since then I have been patchy, then full head of hair, then patchy again. I understand it will probably be like this for the rest of my life... I've come to terms with that. When I do have hair I color it, give myself a fohawk, whatever I think to do at the time. but WHY is it that when I have a FULL head of hair growing great like this...…

I have looked under the bed, I have checked my pockets, I have searched high and low and my hair was nowhere to be found. You see, since I was 21 I have been losing my hair and have done everything short of sending out an Amber Alert for it! My name is Scott and this is my story how I fell into Depression when my hair fell out and how I recovered from it.

Back in January I wrote about being diagnosed with shingles on my head. I had a burning red patch on my scalp. It began at night, on my way home from a gig. I didn't feel it at first, but my husband noticed it saying to me "Lili your head is bright red". It burned. That was a Saturday. I went to my primary care physician. He said I had shingles. Gave me an antibiotic and a cream. It did nothing to help. 3 weeks later I saw my dermatologist. Since the condition persisted he thought I had…

So a friend suggested I see her dermatologist located in Santa Monica. Dr. Greene* was a pretty woman with dark, shoulder-length hair and a somber tone about her. Or maybe there was just something somber about telling someone they had alopecia areata?
Yes, Dr. Greene was the person who told me I had alopecia areata. I had never heard of alopecia in my life. But I quickly learned that it was an autoimmune disease that effected 2% of the entire world population.
Dr. Greene asked…
