"I hope you find it uplifting that most replies / repliers have shared essentially the same things.  We all have been where you are, and are now in a different place and mindset.  Hopefully, you will accept and be able to cope soon. "

"Its quite common for men to be bald, or shave what hair is left;  I, too, find it attractive, even sexy.  Women, on the other hand, are not supposed to be bald but rather have a thick mop of long hair.  Look at TV ads, magazines, and…"

"Maybe you can wear a scarf that is the same color as the caps or even matches the uniform.  When you talk to the boss about your AA, ask if the above might be a viable solution for your dilemna."

"I applaud you for creating a yarn wig and wanting to use the idea to help others.  Its cute, but I need bangs (forehead covering) and I'm not sure what the thing is that goes under your chin.  Reminds me of a Muslim headcovering.…"

"You have taken the first step by admitting to yourself that you have AA and somewhat accepting it.  Being scared that your boyfriend or friends will find out is a common reaction.  But, I (and many more on here) will tell you that if…"

"Would / could be interesting, but like others I feel it might be more peep show than informative.  Since he's essentially a councelor / mediator, maybe Dr Phil thinks everyone with Alopecia has mental problems.  Or, he could show a…"

I too grew up in the 50's and 60's and I hardly ever read of anyone getting Alopecia when they are middle aged. While I found my first spot last August, it got bigger. Only I could see it unless I pulled my hair back. More spots came and hair grew back. Again I am losing hair, but no one can see but me and my hair stylist. I commend all the people that have self acceptance but I wonder if the older you are at the time of the fist occurrence the more self conscious you are.
