- My name is Conner and I am 20 years old. I am a full time student pursuing a bachelors degree in Human Resources (1 year left, not that I'm counting!) I also work an internship part-time and work as a waitress part-time. I was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata in April of 2014 and I had lost 90% of my hair by December of 2014, so I decided to shave the rest of my hair off and now I am completely bald and starting to lose patches in my eyebrows.

Why does NOBODY know about alopecia?

I have only had alopecia for around a year, but I went from having just a very small bald patch to losing 90% of my hair. I feel that it does not get enough attention in the medical world because every doctor I have gone to has told me (It could be caused by stress, it could be hereditary, it could be caused by this, it could be caused by that, it could be cured by this, it could be cured by that, etc. ......) I am so thankful that my hair loss is not caused because of treatment for cancer…
