About Me:
Since around June 2008 I've been losing lots of my scalp hair, and now my eyelashes and eyebrows too. At the moment I don't look any different, except maybe my fringe is a bit thinner than it was a year ago and I have less eyelashes, but I'm scared that soon I will be totally bald and eyelashless :/ If theres anything I'm worried about its the eyelashes, I don't care about conforming to society by having hair, but I feel that my face looks less attractive without eyelashes. I feel that my teenage life has been so orientated around looks, appearance and vanity that I don't know how I will cope if I lose all my hair...

Hi! Welcome to Alopecia World. If you ever need anyone to talk to, I'm here. I may not know everything about alopecia but I'm a good listener. I also agree that you should look into reading "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" My friend has AA and she said it helped her a lot.

And just know that, while you may worry about it now, that you are beautiful no matter what. Hair or no hair. ♥

Hia Zoe~ We have the same name.. But mine has a y at the end.. :o)

There are soo many things you can do with makeup to feel much better, I have had no hair, no eyelashes & no eye brows for 10 years now! Yea, long time! I too went through very bad times when it started. The doctors said the same stuff to me.. Its stress, tyroid problems, etc etc etc.. But, it was just Alopecia.. Then it progressive about 3 years later into to AU.
I was depressed for a very long time, would not go out and do anything. Dropped out of school and basically life. But, with time and learning and thinking about what I really want to do with mylife. I came to finally realize that, everything was going to be okay. Do I like having this AU- HELL NO! But, there is a life saying, "If you get stuff with Lemons, grow a lemon tree" lol

I will be here for you if you ever want to talk or vent, cry or laugh... Its a not so great experience that nobody ever wants to go through...

I hope everything gets better

Hi Zoe,
I know how hard it can be. I have had alopecia for about 30 years. After I became the spokesperson for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, a lot of women were needing my help and support, so I wrote a book called, "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" It might make you feel better. Check it out on my page -- and let me know how else I can help.
