"I used to wear a 3/4 fall with either a hat or a headband. It was made out of human hair. Once it started to thin out, I went to Sally's and bought more hair to add on. Once that hair started to frizz up, I just shortened it to shoulder-length.…"

Hi. I have alopecia areata. My hair has been falling out in patches for the last 8 or 9 years. For the first 6 years, I could hide the patches by styling my hair a certain way. In the past 2 years or so, I have had to cover my head with hats and have even gone so far as to buy wigs, 3/4 falls, extensions, etc. I am looking forward to hearing about other's experiences in dealing with hair loss and hopefully providing support for those who need a friendly ear :)
You popped a question up on the board asking how much a Freedom wig costs. It depends on where you live in the world. If you go to the freedom webpage and then the 'contact us' page you can contact someone close to where you live and find out the cost.
Hello and welcome, Yuko!
I know how hard it can be. I have had alopecia for about 30 years and have gone through all the stages that you are experiencing. After I became the spokesperson for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, a lot of women were needing my help and support, so I wrote a book called, "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" It might make you feel better. You can find out more on my page -- and let me know if there's anything else I can do!
