I am 49 years old, and have had Alopecia Totalis/Universalis since I was 5. When I was diagnosed the doctors said I was 1 in a million but it did not feel so special :). You got to have a sense of humor though.

Hi Paula! We just moved here from Schaumburg, IL, but I am originally from Ohio and have lived in Dallas, Los Angeles, etc. We hope to be here for a while! Are you a pilot or do you work for an airline? I noticed all your plane pics. :) My hubby works ramp for United and I work full time from home for a medical practice. We live in North Houston, Champions Forest area, near the beltway and 249. Would love to get the Texas girls (the three of us anyway) together at some point! We are crazy with moving in at the moment, but once the dust literally settles would love to meet up. We had a great group of girls in the Chicago area that would get together from time to time to commiserate about our alopecia. :) I've been hairless now for over two years, all mine went after my first daughter was born. I have yet to put on a wig here though...it's too dang hot!

Hi Paula! I'm sorry it took me so long to get back to you. It's been a busy couple of weeks. It would be great to meet someone who is going through the same thing. Granted, I'm 50 now and didn't start losing my hair until 3 years ago with the bulk of it going in the past 18 months. Many stressful things going on then. My family has a history of thin hair and I know your hair thins as you age but no one in the family can relate to what I'm going through now. I can't drive because I lost my center vision 20 years ago but I'm sure my husband would be willing to take me to meet up with you sometime. You aren't far from Katy Mills? Let me know and hopefully we can set up a time to meet! Take care.

Hello, and thanks so much for the note back. I was just told I have AA. Currenlty I have my own hair, but not sure how long that will last. My bangs are what is really bothering me now. They are getting so thin. DO you wear a wig? What is the difference between AA, AT and AU? Got any beauty tips?

Thanks for that lovely letter, my english is okey but sometime i wright wrong. In sweden ve have americans slang to and sometime we talk in american slang to. Yes its pretty in sweden in the summer, thats what i like, now its winter outside and lots of snow and very cold. we are waiting for santa claus for her its christmas soon! oh that song i love to the singer name is sanna nielsen and the songs name is empty room, this song is so beatiful its so relaxing.This site is so good and i love to meet some new people to talk to and make new freinds.
