- I had alopecia when I was 15 of only 2 small patches at the back of my scalp. I am now 36 and have had it again for the past 2 & half years of varying degrees, depending on which stage of treatment I am having. At present I have almost all my hair back again but slackened off on my treatment and it is starting to fall out again. I am using steriod creams and injections and Dithronol ointment. I have worn a wig for most of it but at present I can comb the last of the patches over but how long this lasts is the big question.
I live in Brissy, married and have 2 daughters.

Great that you're getting my book -- you can order it though a local bookstore if they don't carry it, or get it on Amazon. Let me know how you like it!
You're right about "stress" -- it doesn't cause alopecia. It can be a trigger, but so can many other things like illness and hormonal changes.
Regarding giving up and going bald -- I did that many years ago. There isn't any cure right now, but researchers are getting closer!
