Hey!! I have AU as well... i was on my page and your status thing came up on the side of it about eyebrows. I have no eyebrows at all and used to have my mom draw them on back in the day but like 7 years ago i found this AMAZING website that sell tatoo eyebrows. they're eyebrows in the form of tatoos-the exact kind like kid tatoos. You apply them to your eyebrow bone and hold with a warm wash cloth for about a minute. It says on the website they last a couple of days although mine usually last between a week and two weeks without me having to do anything to them!!! its soooo great :) and they have tons and tons of different styles to choose from and are relatively cheap. i'll give you the link... hope it helps :) let me know if you have any questions!http://www.beauti-full-brows.com/

I know. Sometimes it seem crazy to pay to hear a diagnosis that we really don't want to hear in the first place. Alopecia is rare, so I am guessing if we are less than 2% of the populations, her clients with alopecia are close to that percentage as well. Thanks for writing back!

I actually have stopped trying to make people understand. From time to time when I am out some well-meaning person will try to give me advice, like rub garlic and your head and your hair will grow back. Or once I went to dermatologist regarding my skin and she was more focused on my bald head. She started telling me about all of the new treatments and I think she thought I was crazy because I did not want to try any of the treatments. She was probably thinking to herself that here I was coming for a zit and I obviously have bigger problems than that! I am sure when I walked in she thought for sure that it was for my alopecia. LOL!

I know the cancer question get asked alot. But how I see it, is that the sooner we let others know about alopecia the sooner people will stop asking ;)
