Absolutely unbelievable that someone would try and take over a website such as this and am glad things worked out legally on behalf of Alopecia World!So far, since I signed up two years ago (approx.) I have been fortunate enough to have that one and only spot on the top back part of m scalp. Now I wonder does my Dermatologist know what he was talking about when he diagnosed me?If could be from my Lupus as well. Has anyone else experienced this situation?See More

- I am a young looking 50 y.o. woman who was recently diagnosed with Alopecia. It all started around Thanksgiving time, while in TX visiting my daughter, when she was drying my hair. She said, "Mom you have a bald spot!" That small bald spot has gotten much bigger (probably the size of a half-dollar now) and I find my hair everywhere in the house. Now it seems like on the sides it is really thinning out and I'm scared to death that I will go totally bald. Any help, assurances, etc. would be very much appreciated.

I know how hard alopecia can be; I have had it for about 30 years. After I became the spokesperson for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, a lot of women were needing my help and support, so I wrote a book called, "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!"
