Kitty said it well. Praying, meditating, counseling, all would help. Most important is to change the way you look at this. I believe blessings come from all situations, no matter how horrible they seem. Your attitude of acceptance and gratitude will bring the blessings forth.

Hi,

I really understand what you're going through because I am there right now.  I'm not gonna tell you that it will get easier but your attitude in front of the illness changes, you see it in a different way.  I lost my hair when i was 20 years old, my grandfather died and my world kind of ended, no psychological support (Peru, we don't believe in depression) and a stupid society where beauty is everything made me very angry and frustrated and with a low self esteem, i'm dealing with those feelings until now.  Now, my eyebrows are almost gone and I think i have 3 eyelashes left (LOL).  I struggle every day, I feel the ugliest person in the world sometimes and sometimes I really don't care, it depends on the weather and the way i wake up that day.  Ups and downs.  I wear a bandana right now, many actually, no wigs, only for special events, like the Xmas Party at the company where I work and my Wedding day, no wigs for me.  I shaved last week and went out bald, with my daughter, to do the grocery, I can feel the looks, some they are good, some they are bad.  I lean on her, she supports me mentally and physically, cause by myself, I'm still not ready to go out like that.  I pray every day and believe me that if I didn't, I'm guessing I wouldn't be here today.  So praise the Lord, he gives you only what you can carry in your back.  You are a strong woman, I know it.  Take one day at a time and believe me that the Serenity Prayer (the one for the AA meetings) helped me unbelievably, I have to accept the things that I cannot change, right?  Hang in there beautiful, you're special, I want to believe that about me to.  If you need anything, I'm here. Love, Kitty

Oh, I'm so sorry you are having such a hard time. I know a lot of women who have this problem and each one handles it differently. Wigs can be wonderful, though. I've been wearing wigs for decades. What kinds have you tried? Maybe you need something different than what you purchased before.
