- I have had alopecia since I was 5 years old. It has been a long journey of acceptance. I am married, have 2 dogs and 1 cat. I moved to Arizona in 1985 from Illinois. Growing up with alopecia has been a challenge and definitely effected my self esteem. I had no support of any kind going thru grade school and high school. I remember praying for a miracle. God must have a plan for me. Now, I am so grateful that I can finally talk to others who truly understand. It's great knowing you are not alone.
I also have to mention I LOVE coffee!!

I would definitely recommend it!! You can find it online for much cheaper than a wig person will sell it. I personally love my wig lady and she has been extremely good to me the past 15 years so I opt to pay the higher price.

I am lucky my bald sites are hidden so far so I have time to adjust and figure out what to do (either extensions or first or right to a wig, I'm not sure. It's harder on my family and friends. They all say, oh, your hair not gonna all fall out. Well maybe not but it is falling out pretty fast and the spots are getting bigger and I need to prepare my mind - and how do they know? I am not a Facebook user so its slow going using this site. I made the August Alopecia lunch but couldn't make the September one. I hope to meet you soon. Patty Gallagher
