Oral Dutasteride and narrow band UVB phototherapy

I have frontal fibrosing which has become very aggressive in the last 5 months. I am going to try these therapies. Does anyone have any experience with either therapy? I have to do something that has the best chance of working because it is going fast. Thank you for any help or information.

Hi Nancy, I have been reading some of your comments re dutasteride...I have been prescribed dutasteride 0.5 mg daily...haven't had the script filled as didn't want to start taking a medication prior to my daughter s wedding, the big day has passed and now I'm have to make the decision re if to take medication .  Did your dermatologist give you a time span that you would be on meds, ? And no side effects? And this has halted frontal fibrosing alopecia?  Sorry just so scared .trying to make an informed descion, thanks

Nancy, I'm still figuring out how to work with this website, so hopefully I'm replying to you in the right place!  Yes, I will have to travel to Duke in order to participate in the study.  Fortunately I live about an hour away from them so it's not a big issue for me.  I'm guessing that you saw all the other sites where they are gathering data around the country?  If any of them are within a reasonable travel distance you may be able to participate in the study by contacted someone at that site.  I remember reading somewhere that someone was having trouble connecting with the right person at one of those sites - I think it was in Pennsylvania, so I thought I would try to find out for that person whom they should call.  It took me several attempts to get a response back from Duke - I think people are just so busy with other things that they don't get around to responding in a timely way.  Probably because they are not losing their hair :-).
