- My name is Megan, I'm 18 and have been living with alopecia areata since October 2009. Hair loss was slow and not too noticable at first, but eventually all my little patches joined up leaving me to bare all! Although I'm currently undergoing DCP treatment at King's Hospital in London to try and inspire some regrowth, I've recently come to terms with the new way I look and have been recommended to have a look round the site to meet like-minded (and hair-styled) people :)

I've been promoting my campaign to be Simple Skincare's new representative mostly on Facebook and via my existing friends and family. However, I thought that by posting it here I could attract the attention (and hopefully votes!) of those who REALLY understand the reasons I'm doing this.
How fantastic would it be to see an alopecia sufferer winning an online competition for a beauty range?! I know it takes courage and guts to show yourself in all your bald glory - and that should be celebrated! Just looking at some of the photos online here I have seen some truely NATURALLY beautiful people:)

Now I'm not so scared if this is what I have. The doctors still don't know what I have but the scalp pain is so hard to live with. More tests this week and I pray for answers. This is a wonderful site for people that don't judge others.

Secondly, Thank You! I'm not to sure if she is embarrassed or not, but she definitely is a little upset. So I will tell her about the wig thing and pretty much everything you told me. She says she really wants me to understand what shes going through so i really appreiciate all your help
