- Hi there! I'm Marie, a 16 year-old girl from Norway.
I started loosing my hair about 4 years ago. It was a pretty rough experience for me, dealing with a disease nobody around me really knew anything about, including my doctors. I remember having a hard time walking around with huge bald spots on my head, when all I really wanted, was to be like everybody else.
Loosing my eyelashes were probably the worst thing though. I feel I'm missing some of the features in my face without them, and my eyebrows, but I'm trying to stay positive and live with it. There is certain advantages with loosing all of your hair. I do love not shaving my legs.
I usually wear a wig, trying to avoid getting curious and sometime hurtful looks and comments.
I think what I want the most, is to get my eyelashes back, they're the best thing about being hairy x)

- I agree, human hair wigs are hard to maintain and expensive to care for and style. That's why I wear synthetics for every day -- when I'm being active, or traveling, or out in the weather, because they are wash and wear. I save the human hair for evenings out, special occasions, etc.

Thanks for the compliments about my kitty cat, Zsa Zsa. She is just adorable! Such a sweet personality. My other cat, Brando, hates her and tried to kill her a couple of times so after much research and talking to the vet, I have him on a form of prozac which seems to work pretty well.
Wow, you're going to be a freshman in high school?
Yes, I wear a wig all the time (except I wear a little had to bed). I have two human hair (European virgin hair) and several synthetic wigs. The syns are for traveling (wash & wear) and going to the gym, since styling human hair is kind of hard and if you have it professionally done it's expensive.
