- my 10 year old daughter was recently diagnosed with alopecia areata...it happened very fast, from Dec.'10 to now, she has hardly any hair on the top of her head, and it's patchy all in the back. We had steroid injections back in January...just had more hair loss...doing acupuncture, cold laser treatments, too...She's doing well, has a GREAT headband with hair attached piece...looking for other girls her age (and I love to talk with moms!) to maybe email with and talk to...We r in Nashville. :)

Let me know if you find anything that works for your daughter wig wise. What are you doing about school? My daughter has rapidly been losing her hair over the last month, but so much over the past few days that she can't go to school w/out something in her hair. SHe just started middle school and I was told by one of the other moms that thier daughter asked if my daughter has cancer :( How awful! We need to get somethign soon but something that won't "stand out". It's so hard to see your child go through this!!
