- I've had Alopecia Areata since I was 4 and have had many different treatments over the years from medications, lotions, ultraviolet treatments, multiple injections of cortasoids, etc.
My hairloss has varied over the years with loss of noticable amounts of hair, loss of some of my eyebrow, loss of patches of lashes, hidable patches on my scalp, loss of underarm hair and currently do not have any armhair, and I am missing a band of hair at the nape of my neck (11 years now).
At 42 years old, I've given up on the medical treatments as I haven't found anything to grow the band of hair missing at the nape of my neck.....short hair is something I've had to sport. I was tired of the questions when I wore a ponytail.
