We just finished up club season, and high school season is coming up this fall. I actually don't wear a wig that often; just when I go out with friends, and I usually wear a hat to school.I like my wig and all, but I'm always messing with it and paranoid that it doesn't look right. It just irritates me sometimes. Anyway, I just didn't think it would be that comfortable wearing it when I play, so I just started wearing a cap, and it's worked out really well! I actually have some white ones that I have tie-dyed!

It's all good, what don't kill only makes individuals stronger, it tends to build character. I have also been dealing with alopecia since I was 6, and never felt like it made me a different person; the only ones that think otherwise are those that don’t have alopecia, and feel superior because they have hair. I have news for them, anything they think they are good at, I can do ten times better, and I just love being underestimated; that’s what alopecia has given me, determination, the element of surprise, and strengthened my character overall...

As for how things are going, they are pretty good, I cannot complain. Finally the summer is here, time for fishing, hunting, and finishing up my final semester for my associates degree.

Just saying, life tends to be pretty challenging for people dealing with alopecia, especially for females. You look happy and excited, and that’s a great thing... Get excited... :)
