How do I make the shedding stop??
Hi all,I'm new to AW and loving this site. My hair has been shedding for 2 years, I have thinness and soreness at the crown. I went to several dermatologists and had a biopsy done. I was finally diagnosed with CCCA about a year ago. I've applied many things to my scalp, Olux, Dermasmooth, Nixoin, Loprox and other topical steroids. But nothing has stopped or even slowed the shedding.Right now, I'm taking Doxycline 50 mg twice a day and Clobestal 0.05% topical lotion to my scalp twice a day. It…See More

- Hi Kaye, its from one of the hair restoration companies, like a hair club. But they charge too much money which is why I'm looking for something different. You have to pay for the system then monthly payments for services, meaning you have to keep going every 4-6 wks to have it taken off cleaned and put back on. You also have to sign a contract. It uses a skin like cap that they glue or tape on and it don't come off until they take it off but the hair sheds alot. On this picture I was wearing only the crown of my head, the sides and back was my hair but that too was too much maintenance because i had to keep perming and coloring my hair to make it match. I wouldn't recommend it. Over the past 5 yrs I've spent alot of money.

- Thanks Kaye, yes I know what you mean, that's why I had to eventually go to the hair system because i got tired of always worrying about my bald spots, and whenver my daughters were with me, they would try to secretly cover them up for me without anyone noticing. I just wonder how many times they were showing when they weren't with me. I also didn't want them feeling embarrassed for me. One day I hope I'll get bold enough to not wear anything and just be myself, but this world is so cruel...just like people who stare at those with handicaps
