The View upsets Alopecia World

"The entire show offends my sensibilities. I don't think their intent was to make offensive comments about people with alopecia, however. They get off topic faster than you can say Barbara Walters."

Guest "listener" at NAAF NYC-chapter monthly meeting

I had a wonderful evening at last Monday night's NAAF meeting here in NYC. Rather than give the usual "these are our wigs" routine, I asked for feedback from the other guests regarding their wig-buying experiences - good, bad or other. Almost everyone stressed a need for patience as the wig buying experience is a "journey". Other points included not being too technical, especially with people buying their first wig.All-in-all, it was a very special evening and I'd like to thanks to Jodi…See More

Karen's Wigs replied to Jules's discussion How to care for a human hair wig?
"Rule #1 - always use cold water (and always keep your wig away from extreme heat such as ovens, stoves, etc.). Use a mild shampoo and conditioner. A wig stand is best for drying because air can get in and dry it from underneath. A shower head works…"

Karen's Wigs replied to Karen Froehner's discussion Healthcare Reform
"For starters, those alopecians without coverage would be able to go and get treatment. There has been a bill in D.C. for a long while that would cover wigs for alopecians through medicaid or medicare (forget which one.)"

Karen's Wigs replied to RENEE's discussion Lupus and hairpieces
"Hi Rene - There is a feature called a monofilament top which provides comfort to the wig wearer. Hand-made wigs are lighter than machine-made while synthetic pieces are easier to care for than human and are less expensive."

Thanks for your comment on my blog posting about how expensive wigs are! I have decided to splurge a little and get the custom wig. This is my first wig and I feel like I need something that looks natural and is good quality. Thanks!
