- I am here because I have a friend with alopecia. she has very low self esteem since she lost all her hair. I am trying to find ways to help her see how beautiful she is. I thought that if I get involved, she would do more for herself. Having a friend care so much might make her take part in life.

I know how hard it can be to feel beautiful. I have had alopecia for about 30 years. After I became the spokesperson for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, a lot of women were needing my help and support, so I wrote a book called, "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!"
