- About Me:
- My name is Jessica, and I was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata in July of 2007. This was about a week after my 19th birthday. However, I found my very first bald patch around 3 months prior to my diagnosis. From the that time up until about a month after I was finally told I had Alopecia and NOT ringworm of the scalp, I had watched all the hair on my head disappear and by then was completely bald. After that, it only took about 2 months for my eyelashes, eyebrows, and the rest of the hair covering my body to vanish entirely. Since then, I've been trying to live my life as normal as humanly possible. In the past year, I've actually started to rapidly grow most of my hair back. My eyebrows and eyelashes are pretty much completely done growing in. I almost have a full head of hair now, except for a couple of patches and also around my nape of my neck that hasn't finished growing in yet. However I can see the progess every day, and couldn't be happier! If I can regrow 90% of my hair after having Alopecia Universalis for 5 FULL YEARS, maybe there's still hope out there for others. Take it from me, NEVER LOSE FAITH! :)

I have recently started to lose eyelashes and I read that you have AU.
In your pictures your eyelashes look very natural. Are they real or are they false ones?
I also wanted to know how you cope having AU? I have pretty much no eyebrows left and my eyelashes thinning has been really hard to deal with.
