Your funniest bald moments!

One day while living in the DC area, I was shopping at a mall. Two little boys kept starring at me. They would look at me and whisper. They had to be only about 7 or 8-years old. Then their mother…Continue

"I truly enjoyed your story. More importantly, you exhibit a tremendous amount of courage. As you said, hair is not what makes you beautiful. I suffer from Alopecia as well. I don't allow it to stop me. I've come to look at as a tool to…"

Connecting the Dots: You've Already Won!

Recently I read a commencement speech given by the late Steve Jobs to the 2005 Stanford University graduating class. In that speech he expounded on how our lives are like dots and as you look back you can connect the dots as to what brought you to the place where you are now. According to Jobs, "You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future."You see, there is complete accuracy in…See More

"I like your story. Was that at the time when your photo at the pool was taken? It's really funny. Because with your bald head you look as feminine as one can. A living proof that hair has nothing to with gender identity."

Out of pain comes glory

I think out every pain and struggle there is something waiting to be birthed. This is even more so with the pains of life that we endure. Hair loss is one them. In life we are confronted with so many things, but how you look at them will determine your reaction. Out of pain I found comes joy, if you allow it to spring forth. Over the years I have gradually lost my hair. Although I did not endure the pain of losing my hair, I've endured other pains. It can be excruciating. I know that within…See More

Cross-eyed...baldness - They are assets

I have what they call lazy eyes, but the more common term is crossed-eyes. All my life my eyes have been this way. When I tried to get them corrected I kept hearing the same refrain, "Well you have good control over your eyes." What is that! I wanted my eyes to control themselves. After going to several different doctors, none who knew each other, I reconciled myself to the fact that these eyes were going to be with me always. If you look at my pictures you don't know that I have crossed eyes…See More

Relationship Status:
Single
About Me:
Over the years my hair became thinner and thinner and in some spots didn't grow at all. This appears to be apparent with other members in my family including my mother and siblings. For the past 15 years I have gone fully bald. In 1999 the Wash Post featured me in an article (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/style/features/bald060899.htm). I have worn wigs, quite infrequently, but I really like my natural bald look. The likelihood I will wear a wig again is minuscule. Whenever possible I encourage others who suffer with hair loss and have been living in secret.
By nature, I'm an encourager who inspires others to become all God envisioned so they can see what God saw (spiritual, abundance and wholeness). I do this through speaking engagements, inspirational messages, workshops, seminars and conferences, social media, and using every mechanism possible to reach people to inspire and encourage them. My beloved niece: A gift of baldness

Posted on September 21, 2011 at 9:30am 6 Comments

One of my young nieces has a very hard time with the fact that I don't have hair. One day she asked me, "Do you think that you are pretty and you have no hair?" I responded, "No, I know that I'm pretty!" She just walked away.

A few days later, her mother told me that they were riding in the car and my niece emphatically stated, "Mama can you believe that Auntie Jacqui thinks that she is pretty with no hair!"

So the next time I saw my niece, I told her that everywhere I go people walk… Continue
