- I am 21 years old and have had alopecia universalis since I was born. I never wear wigs, although I have been encouraged to wear them every now and then. I simply do not find them comfortable.I guess I've just come to terms with my alopecia. After 21 years, you kind of get adjusted to how you look :) Especially if you've never known anything else!
While I'm pretty comfortable with myself, I still sometimes feel the odd one out. I've never met anyone with alopecia before so I hope that changes soon - it would be nice to see and understand what other people are going through. I live in the Vancouver area and would be up to meeting some people and swap experiences and advice!
