Hello Family!
In the spirit of TallGirl’s excellent blog on the power of the internet in the creation of our home here at Alopecia World; I would like to launch a blog for creative expression. I have a story that my AA family can appreciate. Today I felt sad about being hairless, watching my co-worker walk around the office with a fresh relaxer. Hair flowing as she walks by, I really began to miss what it’s like to have a fresh new hair-do.

Share The Love--Be Authentic!

This has been an exceptional week for me in my worklife as an instructor. For the first time since I shaved my scalp in '08, I chose to stand before a class of adults without a head cover. The positive reception was more than I expected. But more importantly than that, I had an opportunity to share Alopecia World with others who are experiencing alopecia in their lives. I love Alopecia World because there’s nothing like belonging… I’ve been given the power to take back my life by interacting with the strong and caring people on this site. My daughter and her girlfriends were obsessed with haiku poems in 9th grade and had a notebook that they passed around during school that year. I bet she still has it. I doubt I could write one. Plus I don't know if I really can speak to the challenges yet of AA. I just got it in May and my 3 bald patches are hidden, growing but hidden. Can I ask you how you have such nice eyebrows; they are very pretty and seem perfect. I get that I will be able to wear a wig but losing the eyebrows seems harder to deal with. Thanks for any info you can share.
