- Hi my name is Crystal and I live in Nl. I grew up in a small community about 4 hrs from our province capital. Alopecia started for me around the age of 11, it's been that long now I'm not even sure anymore. My hair fell out very slowly taking roughly 3 years, that's when I started to wear wigs. It all grew back when I was in grade 11 but by the end of my senior year I was almost bald. I held on to what I had until after my graduation and then shaved my head and as been bald every since.On a daily basis I have peach fuzz on my head and occasionally I will have one or two hairs that will grow out a few inches. The only other times I 've seen regrowth to any extent was when I was pregnant with my two beautiful children, this hair was always hard but colored. In the past few years my eyebrow as fell out always growing back in a year or so but this time and it's taking a really long time.

Hair regrowth

I'm very excited to say that I am experiencing some hair regrowth in the past month. I'm very curious as to what is going on with my body. The hair in two places are after getting long and turning color. I find this very strange because the only time I see hair growth is when I am pregnant and I know that is not possible at this time. Could it be the DPCP treatments that I had taken almost a year ago but had to stop because of headaches. Or is my body at age 33 changing.

The first time I shaved my head

I will never forget it...I went into the salon to see how much it would cost, the lady told me $12.00. I said you have got to be kidding I have only half a head of hair. The lady looked at me like I had ten heads. I lifted up my hair and she then saw that underneath was all gone. The lady at the salon charged me $6.00 that day to have my head shaved. I have been bald ever since.

- Crystal, I too will never forget my day to Judy & Company, Judy is from Mich, I from Canada, just across the bridge. She was compassionate, thank goodness, and was used to this as treats lots of cancer patients & all. She saw I too had barely anything left, and id it really quick. Then put the new wig on really quick , not much tiem to look at my new head, she said do it later at home, alone, and thenb learn to accept it. I cried all the way home. But now I am trying to get used to it. MY one year ann is April 25. It all fell out by 4 wks, it was crazy fast.........
