I have strange memories of my childhood.
As my father took me to school one cold December morning, a woman stopped by and asked him why I had no hair or eyebrows. That fleeting instant, at 4, I realised I was different.
My mother ensured since then that I wore a cap at all times when I was outdoors. Her act of protecting her little girl only drew more attention to the fact that I was bald.
