- I have had AA since I was 19. I finally shaved my head at 28, and it was a liberating experience! I hate hats, and I never wore a wig. I just went out into the world with my beautiful bald head:) Sure, I got stares and sympathetic looks from people who assumed "cancer," but I used it as a way to educate people.
