Sensitive scalp

I have found that the Proluxe shampoo and conditioner works perfectly for sensitive scalp.Sweat and build up of dead skin cells can cause rashes and itchiness.Be sure to shampoo your scalp to cleanse scalp with proluxe shampoo a pea size works.Massage into scalp to remove dead skin cells and bacteria, rinse well.(Bacteria not removed causes rashes ans itchiness)Next use a pea size conditioner and massage into scalp and leave 1 minute.this will help to dehydrate scalp. Carmen West, Master StylistSee More

Sensitive scalp solutions for sweat, rashes and itchiness?

I’m having trouble wearing wigs long term without being sensitive to the material most pieces are made out of. I’ve worn under garments but they slide and have tried sewing in other lining but they don’t seem to hold up. Can anyone recommend lotions, sprays, deodorants etc than can help with scalp itch, redness, and sweat? Specifically for an active person in a humid environment? Thank you in advance!See More

Oh, also the page states...regular maintenance is required...exactly what does that mean? And if well maintained ...how long is the life expectancy of one of these systems? I listened to the video and the woman there said she just got it permed...wow, you can even perm them?? That is crazy. I have never done anything to my hair most of my life having had baby fine silky straight hair..always fragile hair...I really like the idea of just wash let dry naturally, and go, would that be an option or would styling and flat ironing, curling, etc. always need to be done? I don't know if I would even know how to do any of that.

Carmen, I was just on the page for the gripper, and see cool solutions...it seems that might be something for me...thinning hair, diffuse female pattern hairloss. Can you maybe send me a link to a site to get some idea of the styles it comes in? I see the price points for length, maybe it just depends upon how one choses to style it. Does it come styled at all? I am in FL also, and am looking for something that will be cool and comfortable for FL heat and humidity, the price point is maybe too high for me. Also, as we get older, older women even those with all of their hair, ...we have "older" hair. It finally occurred to me just this week, how odd it may look for someone as they age to have hair on their head that looks like it belongs to a 20 yr old....any thoughts??

Hi Carmen,
Thanks for the info. Who sells the "Gripper"? You said it's about $1600 right? That much for a back-up to my vacuum wig. Not sure?????

I had to go to a regular salon, which is hard because I don't want other people knowing whats going on with me, and people can be so cruel, especially the younger generation, they have no respect for anyone and even if they don't say anything the stares alone is unerving. I try to go as early as possible and make sure the hairdresser know not to expose any of my head or show that I'm wearing a system. That was one thing I liked about going to the hair restoration facility because each room was private. I think now with so many wigs being made for people with alopecia that beauty salons need to have at least one private room to service us. Maybe I'm asking too much...
