Fall 2009 Research Update from the BGDL Blog

The open label, non-randomized efficacy study using Plaquenil (hydrochloroquine) lead by Drs. Hordinsky (University of Minnesota) and Kalish (State University of New York at Stony Brook) was completed back in January, 2008.

The clinical trial used 16 patients of both sexes ages 18 and over with severe scalp alopecia areata ( >75%) with and without loss of body hair. Statistical analysis was performed on sections of the scalp to determine if there was any significant regrowth compared to pre-… Continue
