- Howdy, My names Ashley. I'm 18 and have had alopecia since i was 12. I'm trying my hardest to find a way to suck it up and deal with the fact I have AA, but im so scared that people will laugh or make fun of me. So having AA can defiantly mess you up mentally and make things 10times more difficult for dating. I havent dated anyone in almost 8months and thats when my recent hair loss started and everytime i start really likeing a guy i stop talking to him because i feel like theyll judge me. well i figured out WHY im like that. I started talking to a guy over a month ago and we were just keeping things slow because he'll be going away into the air force...we went to the gym to workout and swim and…

It's only been a few days since iv'e joined this site, but i'm already feeling 10times more confident about myself knowing there's more people out there with the same problem and they don't care what people think of them. I went to my dermatologist today for shots, and told her about this site and how its making me feel great and that i would like to help others who might not know what caused their alopecia.
