"Have you thought about a vacuum wig??? I have worn one for over 20 years. I can go down a waterslide (KINGS ISLAND), swim, boating. I never worry about it coming off.

- Hi Ann! Welcome. Your hair loss pattern looks alot like mine. I have that huge circular bald spot at the crown and the hair just grows around the edges, but it's very thin. Anyway, I couldn't bring myself to shave my head when I first started wearing a wig. I used a wig liner and wrapped/pinned my hair up before I put the liner on. After several years I got tired of dealing with the hair and liner so I cut my hair really short first, then shaved my head a couple of months later. I find it so much more comfortable with my head shaved - much cooler. Just take your time and do what feels right. Stay strong.

- sounds like me...mine started with about 4 small spots and now I have 10 HUGE spots and lots of small ones....its soo frustrating I have always had long pretty thick hair and now this....but I have to make the most of it...They say I am not sick so that is a huge positive...I got me a wig that looks like my old hair with highlights...I look like I've stepped out of a salon...but oh well ...If have to wear one, I will rock it..lol

I just bought a wig (human hair) but its monofiliment I am not sure that is the best wig to get .... is it easy to wear do i shave my head with it? or do i leave hair so i can pin it in.. if so should i cut my hair short. ... Kinda freaking out because i wish i had someone with me that knows and has gone through this already to help me! My family is being supportive finally but, they don't know what is best or whatever!

Getting ready for the day!

Today i feel like just sleeping all day! I hate getting up taking a shower and running my hands through my hair and coming out with clumps upon clumps of hair falling out! I can't comb my hair or else it just rips out! I also can't really do anything else with my hair but wear it up in a pony tail and put a thick head band on. Sometimes when I am talking to people in class or in public i see there eyes wandering up (or down cuz im really short) to my head and i can tell what they are looking… Continue
