- My name is Allison, but alot of people call me Allie. I am 22 years old and a full time student. I have way too many goals and not enough time, I am entirely too ambitious but that is how I got this far. If it can be done, I will do it. I have a double major in Business and English, and I hope to get my masters after I am done with those. I work hard and I Love life. I am so grateful, at least when I remember how blessed I really am. :)
I am an artist so I can be eccentric sometimes. I like living my life outside the box and I think that has helped me to cope with having AA. I love to paint, draw, act, learn new things, read (War and Peace at the moment), and spend time with God.
I lost my hair for the first time when I was five and again at 21. It was a hard journey but when I learned that I could use Alopecia to help others I was all about it. I have always been an overcomer and AA has given me another platform to show people that you can define your circumstances rather than allow them to define you. I have used Alopecia, as well as other things I have gone through in my life, to lead and mentor other woman. I try to remember every day that all things work for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose, and that I can do ALL things through Christ who strenghtens me.
I love this website, all of you have been such an inspiration to me. You are all truely beautiful and have helped me in ways you could never imagine. Thanks for being awesome!

As many of you may know, I have been an emotional wreck since I first found a bald spot in the back of my head months and months ago. It has been quite a ride, and this site has been such a blessing to me. To recap my experience...

I thought my nightmare was over

It has been about 9 months since I found my first spot.
It took about a month for my hair to stop falling out and since that time those areas are growing back. :)
I was lucky because the spots my hair fell out were all on the back of my head, underneath the rest of my thick hair. No one could see but me, my hair. I Love God! I have trusted that he would heal me and that this was over, and as far as I could tell it was!

This is my first blog post. I have decided that this could be a good way to say what I need to say....
So....the patches are getting bigger. I have decided not to have any more steriod shots, I would rather be bald and happy then hairy and in pain. My hair is falling out just in the back (underneath) so noone can even see it :) except me :( Is it bad that the fact that noone else can understand what I am going through because my hair is just falling out in the back?
