- My name is Alex and I'm 27 years old. I just moved to Jacksonville, FL after spending the last 9 years in the Tampa/Orlando area. I just started my 4th year as a teacher and am teaching middle school reading this year. I attended the University of Central Florida and was a sister of Kappa Kappa Gamma. I love my friends, family and sisters. I have had Alopecia since I was 12 years old and have experienced every stage of hair loss as well as regrowth. All my pictures are of me with wigs on, as I never leave the house without them. I do have some regrowth on the back of my head, one eyebrow, and a few eyelashes on one eye. So we'll see what happens.

It's been over 2 years since I've wrote my first and only blog on this site. It's also now on very rare occasions, that I'm actually active on this site. But right now, I didn't know where else to go. This month marks 15 years. 15 years ago, at age 12 I lost my hair for the first time. 7 years ago, this month, I noticed my hair falling out again after having had my own hair for a little over 2 years. My Story

So I figured I'd write a quick blog detailing my history with Alopecia since I didn't feel like writing all that in the "about me" section.
Alopecia runs in my family. My younger sister developed AA when she was 4, had a couple bald spots and then it all grew back. She's now 23 and hasn't lost any hair since. I first lost my hair at age 12 right before I began 7th grade and in a matter of 6 months went from AA to AU. I was completely bald till somewhere towards the end of 9th grade. I was… Continue

- Hey Alexandra! I noticed from doing my wig research on Alopecia World that you wear an iwig. I recently purchased one and was wondering what type of front you have on yours. When I placed my order, they did not have the color/length that I needed available in the lace front - just the regular non-lace front. Erica ordered new lace to add to the front of my wig, and I'm currently wearing it around (without the lace) while I wait for that part to come in. I'm hoping you can tell me what type of front you have and if you're happy with it. I'm actually pretty content with the wig as is and don't want to mess with a good thing. At the same time I think the lace front could be pretty great and don't want to miss out on having an even more realistic looking wig. Any insight you might have would be greatly appreciated!
