About Me:
I was just diagnosed with androgenic alopecia in August 2011 but I suffered hair loss for 3 years now after using the bcp Loestrin24. The sheds haven't stopped since so I think it's the culprit! Its a private struggle since no1 can tell by looking at me (yet) Really looking for holistic or medicine treatments options, wig help from people who have "been there done that" and much needed support!!!

Hi there- Andro genetic hair loss is a slow shedding problem. By taking the wrong pill it often causes the shedding. You have to have the genetic predisposition to it tho. The pill turns it on. Treatment is aimed at 2 things. 1) arrest further progression by blocking the gene that promoted pattern thinning. You can switch pills to diane 35 which is an androgen blocker. There are other things you can take also plant estrogens. Do not take propecia as this is for post menopausal women.2) to promote regrowth you need to use minoxidil lotion 5% twice per day. initially this may cause a slight shedof the hairs that are ready to fall anyway they just go all at once, but it will settle down once you have adjusted to the ingredients. Blood tests are sometimes done to determine if there is any hormonal imbalance.i hope this helps.

    Hi NYCGirlie,
Thanks for the friend request. I checked out those 2 wig sites that you discussed in an earlier post. Expensive!!! But I like the celebrity wigs. I might drop a couple hundred on one of those.
