My name is Nina Wrong. I am a big bald woman. Who are you?
I keep a blog about my Alopecia and the inevitable thoughts that it sparks: http://ninawrong.blogspot.com/
I've had this condition from a very young age. It has been completely under control for 17+ years, but for some reason it has been misbehaving since October of 2011. I am now bald, something I have never been before. I have also lost my eyebrows and eyelashes quickly, and without warning. Essentially, in a matter of a month. Due to this shock I started my Skin For Hair blog in January 2012.
I am tall and in need of losing a few pounds, too...and to boot, will be 60 soon. For important events? I buy decent wigs, rooted tri-tones with darker roots to look unwiggy. However, for fancy events and campiness, I would consider a silk scarf with flowing long tie ends under a wide-brimmed hat of a solid color to match my dress. That would make me NOT be a bald focal point, at least! I wore a red wide-brim for Independence Day, just bought a black small-rim with white edging (cloth...more comfortable and washable), and may look into Wallaroo or Gore-tex hats for an upcoming beach weekend.
