Information

alopecia areata worldwide

Alopecia areata is a type of hair loss that occurs when your immune system mistakenly attacks hair follicles, which is where hair growth begins. It usually starts with one or more small, round, smooth patches.
This disease affects approximately 2% of the population overall.

this is a support group for those who have alopecia (or have loved ones with alopecia). Information shared should focus on your own thoughts, feelings and experiences. Opinions are welcome but should not be misconstrued as medical advice. Auto-immune disorders are individual disorders. What works for one person may not work for another.

I use dermol which can also be used to wash. I've also just been given some coconut oil by my gp to rub in :)

Hi Lea,

I haven't experienced this problem. I just use a good moisturizer on my scalp.

There's a group here named Makeup and skincare advice for alopecia.

You might find some good answers within that group.

Good luck!

Hi thanks. I was curious if anyone has good scalp TLC tips or products they like. For example I was being cheap and just using my body shower wash to wash & now my skins super itchy and dry. Could be change of weather. Thank you!
